After Billy Strayhorn and Fred Hersch, the sureness of nearly any other jazz greats' queerness remains nebulous or debated, at best. Jazz and queerness share a rich but unknown history. The mission of the Beau Briar Band is to bring that knowledge to light and inspire a greater love for queer jazz musicians, while cultivating a space for their unique voices to invade the present day.
